THE ruling party, CCM, and the Communist Party of China (CPC) have agreed further to further strengthen the long-standing relations between Tanzania and China.
This was agreed during a meeting between CCM Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training Kenani Kihongosi with a delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) at the CCM Lumumba Sub-Office in Dar es Salaam.
The Party Counsellor led the CPC delegation at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Tanzania, Comrade Xu Sujiang.
During the discussions, Comrade Kenani reaffirmed the commitment of the CCM Chairperson to continue strengthening cordial and fraternal relations between the two countries.
He said the Tanzania–China relationship is deeply rooted in history, having been established by the founding leaders of the two nations—Tanzania’s Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, and China’s founding leader, Mao Tse-tung.
He also expressed appreciation to the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people for their continued support and cooperation with Tanzania, particularly in key development sectors.
In his remarks, Comrade Xu Sujiang congratulated CCM on the occasion of its 49th anniversary, noting that the ruling party has, over the years, played a significant role in safeguarding peace, stability and development for the people of Tanzania.
The meeting underscored the enduring party-to-party cooperation between CCM and CPC, which continues to complement the broader diplomatic and development partnership between Tanzania and China.
