MORE than 300 local and foreign industries have confirmed their participation in the Tanzania International Manufacturers Expo (TIMEXPO 2024), scheduled to start tomorrow at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF).

The Expo is organized by the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) in collaboration with the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), and coordinated by Radian Limited.

CTI’s Public Relations Manager, Shenina Mangula, said yesterday that Vice President Dr Philip Mpango is expected to inaugurate the event, which will commence on October 2 and conclude on October 26 in Dar es Salaam.

Mangula mentioned that the event will feature companies from 21 countries worldwide and that preparations are in their final stages.

“We have companies from East Africa, Europe, Asia, South Africa, the Middle East, Israel, and many other countries. We are very optimistic about the outcome and expect this to be the best event of the year,” said Mangula.

She added that this year’s exhibition will boast a wide range of exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge products and services from both local and international industrial players.

The event will also provide a platform for numerous international companies looking to introduce and expand their operations, products, and services in Africa.

“The expo will be an invaluable platform for manufacturers, both local and international, to showcase their industrial capabilities, build partnerships, and explore new opportunities. We welcome you to join the manufacturing companies that will be exhibiting at TIMEXPO, including some of the largest industries in Tanzania,” she said.

Freddie Manento, event coordinator, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Radian Limited, noted that a special attraction at the event will be the showcase of Tanzania’s locally made airplane, the Skyleader 600.

Manento explained that the plane is designed to accommodate two passengers, including the pilot, and is ideal for business travelers on longer journeys.

He added that, apart from one plane being showcased at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), another will be at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA Terminal 3) for testing.

The plane is manufactured by Airplanes Africa Limited (AAL), a Morogoro-based aircraft manufacturer.
