NCBA Bank Tanzania proudly participated in the 6th Diplomatic Golf Tournament, set against the scenic backdrop of the Kili Golf Club, USA River, Arusha.

The event, aimed at celebrating sportsmanship while supporting charitable initiatives for children in need, was held in partnership with various stakeholders, including the Minister of Culture, Arts, and Sports, Dr. Damas Ndumbaro.

This year's tournament focused on raising funds for underprivileged children in Songea Municipality, showcasing the transformative power of sport in uplifting communities and fostering goodwill.

Speaking at the event, Claver Serumaga, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of NCBA Bank Tanzania, highlighted the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“At NCBA Bank, our commitment to corporate social responsibility lies at the heart of who we are. This year, our contribution of TZS 5,000,000 is dedicated to supporting the education and welfare of children in Songea Municipality. We believe that education is key to unlocking potential and breaking the cycle of poverty,” Serumaga said.

NCBA Bank's involvement in the event went beyond financial contributions, reflecting a deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement.

As part of its ongoing tree planting initiative, which began in Arusha during the NCBA Golf Series, the bank planted 1,000 trees.

This initiative is now expanding to Dar es Salaam and Mwanza, with a goal of planting at least 6,000 trees nationwide.

Through these initiatives, NCBA continues to demonstrate its dedication to making a positive environmental impact while engaging with communities across Tanzania.

In addition to its charitable efforts, NCBA Bank remains a passionate advocate of golf, viewing the sport as more than just a recreational activity.

“Golf embodies strategic thinking, resilience, and discipline—qualities that are central to both business and personal growth,” Serumaga added.

“We are committed to supporting the growth of golf in Tanzania and working alongside the government to position the country as a premier destination for sports tourism.”

He said NCBA Bank Tanzania looks forward to continuing its partnerships in events that champion both sports and community welfare, reaffirming its role as a catalyst for positive change in the nation.
