Stanbic Bank conducted the first Tap Kibingwa monthly draw, awarding TZS 500,000 each to five high-net-worth clients who actively used their Visa Debit Cards throughout January. The draw, held in compliance with Tanzania’s gaming regulations, was supervised by an official from the Gaming Board of Tanzania, ensuring fairness and transparency.
The winners, identified as Sangwoo Kim, Thomas Alex Nguluma, Dr. Peter Tumbo, Nqobile Memory Ngwenya, and Fardeen Rattansi, expressed excitement at being part of the campaign and emphasized the importance of cashless transactions in their daily lives.
"I have been a Stanbic client for years, and using my Visa Debit Card has always been my preferred way of making payments, especially when traveling," said Thomas Alex Nguluma . "Winning today is a great bonus, but the real win is the security and ease of card payments. I no longer carry large amounts of cash, and I appreciate the efficiency it brings to my transactions."
Another winner, Nqobile Memory Ngwenya, echoed similar sentiments, stating, "Going cashless has become second nature to me. Whether shopping, dining, or making business transactions, my Visa Debit Card allows me to make payments effortlessly. I commend Stanbic Bank for leading this shift and encouraging more people to embrace digital banking."
Stanbic Bank’s Card Issuing Manager, Irene Mutahibirwa, who officiated the event, emphasized the bank’s commitment to advancing Tanzania’s digital payment landscape. "Tap Kibingwa is more than a campaign, it is part of our broader mission to support financial innovation. Digital payments offer greater security and convenience, and we are excited to reward our customers for making smarter financial choices," she said.
Stanbic Bank Tanzania continues to lead in promoting financial inclusion and digital banking with the “Tap Kibingwa” campaign, an initiative that rewards customers for embracing cashless transactions. As Tanzania moves toward a more secure and efficient financial system, digital payments have become the preferred mode of transaction, reducing the risks associated with carrying cash, such as theft, fraud, and inefficiencies.
With growing support from the Bank of Tanzania for a cashless economy, Tap Kibingwa reinforces the importance of using Visa Debit Cards for everyday transactions. The Stanbic Visa Debit Card provides secure and seamless payment solutions, offering customers a global banking experience while ensuring convenience, security, and efficiency in all their transactions.
The Tap Kibingwa campaign runs until May 2025, with two more monthly draws in March and April, giving customers additional opportunities to win. The final grand draw in May will see one lucky customer drive away in a brand-new Suzuki Fronx, along with an exclusive luxury trip to Zanzibar.
To qualify for the upcoming draws, customers must use their Stanbic Visa Debit Cards to transact TZS 2 million or more in a month. Those who spend TZS 5 million or more will enter the draw for a chance to win TZS 500,000.
Stanbic Bank remains committed to leading Tanzania’s transition to a cashless economy, reinforcing customer security, ease of transactions, and global financial accessibility. Customers are encouraged to continue using their Visa Debit Cards for everyday purchases and be part of this exciting journey towards digital banking excellence.
