Students at Bagamoyo Secondary School are being empowered with health education.

Students at Bagamoyo Secondary School are among those benefiting from an educational program that enhances their knowledge and understanding of sexual and reproductive health.

This program is coordinated by the Community Hands Foundation (CHF) in collaboration with Girls First Initiative and Axio Consulting Group, aiming to provide comprehensive health and moral education to primary and secondary school students.

Speaking today in Bagamoyo, located in the Coast region, CHF Director Paul Makoe stated that the program was launched in 2023, initially implemented in the Dar es Salaam region and now expanding to the Coast. The main goal is to enhance students' understanding of the solutions to community challenges they may face.

"This project will last for five years, and we expect to reach over 20 regions in the country. We urge educational stakeholders and various institutions to support these efforts, ensuring that society gains adequate understanding," said Makoe.

He also noted that the program addresses the need to strengthen children and youth in morals and upbringing, as preliminary research revealed complaints from teachers and parents regarding rising immorality among students.
