THE Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit Agency (DART), has temporarily suspended suburban transport services to the Kivukoni and Gerezani terminals in the city center due to flooding.

Due to ongoing rainfall, the section of Morogoro Road passing through the flood-prone Jangwani area is closed, preventing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles from entering the city center.

A statement issued on the morning of April 23, 2024, by DART’s Communications and Public Relations Department informed users of the BRT commuter transport system about the temporary suspension of services due to the closure of the Jangwani area.

According to the statement, BRT buses normally operating on the Kimara-Kivukoni and Kimara-Gerezani routes will terminate at Magomeni Mapipa, while the city center will be serviced by BRT buses operating on the Muhimbili-Gerezani/Kivukoni routes.

Furthermore, BRT bus services will continue to operate on the Morocco-Kimara route.

Feeder routes from Kimara to Mbezi, Kimara to Kibaha, and Kimara to Mloganzila will continue to offer BRT bus services as usual, according to the statement from DART.

DART will provide updates to commuters through various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
