CCM wades into opposition leaders' dentetion saga

CCM Secretary General Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi has instructed Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Daniel Sillo to discuss with his Minister the possibility of releasing opposition party Chadema leaders who were detained in Mbeya Region.

Dr. Nchimbi made this statement today while addressing a public rally in Katoro, Geita Region, as part of his tour following his visit to Lake Zone regions.

He mentioned his efforts to reach out to counterparts from other political parties for dialogue but received information about the detention of Chadema leaders in Mbeya.

"Deputy Minister for Home Affairs, please speak to the Minister. We request that you explore the possibility of freeing the detained political leaders in Mbeya. Give us, as politicians, a chance to discuss these matters. Not everything can be resolved legally; some issues are political," Dr. Nchimbi said, directing the Deputy Minister, who accompanied him on the tour.
