TANZANIA’S Ambassador to Germany, Hassan Iddi Mwamweta, has reaffirmed the country’s commitment to expanding agricultural exports to improve farmers’ livelihoods.
Speaking during his visit to Tanzania’s pavilion at the Fruit Logistica 2025 exhibition in Berlin, Germany, over the weekend, Mwamweta commended the collaboration between the Cereals and Other Produce Regulatory Authority (COPRA), the Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA), and the private sector, describing it as crucial for accessing international markets.
“Entering the European market isn’t easy; we need strong strategies and robust public-private collaboration,” he stressed.
He urged Tanzanian traders to seize market opportunities, form partnerships, and learn from global stakeholders.
Mwamweta also praised the Ministry of Agriculture, COPRA, and TAHA for strengthening public-private partnerships vital for international market growth. He expressed particular satisfaction with the participation of young entrepreneurs at the exhibition.
One of the beneficiaries of the Building a Better Tomorrow (BBT) program, Asia Msuya, confidently told the ambassador, "I'm doing what I love, without shame!"—a testament to the new generation’s readiness to transform the cereal and mixed produce sector.
COPRA Director General Irene Mlola highlighted the importance of participating in such exhibitions, emphasizing that they provide valuable platforms for advancing Tanzania’s agricultural agenda.
She added that such engagements could foster new business partnerships between Tanzanian exporters and international buyers.
