GLOBAL leader in energy management and automation, Schneider Electric, has launched the Galaxy VXL, a new uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed to meet the growing demands of AI, data center, and industrial facilities.

The new system boasts an enhanced, compact, modular, and scalable design, providing unprecedented efficiency, reliability, and cybersecurity.

“We are thrilled tointroduce the Galaxy VXL,” said Tarunjeet Sarao, SVP, Data Center Systems, Schneider

Electric. “This innovative UPS is designed to enhance energy efficiency and ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure systems. The Galaxy VXL will transformthe data center industry by ensuring its capability of powering up to 1.25 MW in one frame and up to 5 MW with 4 units running in parallel.”

The Galaxy VXL boasts a compact and modular design, designed to fit within a small footprint while offering unparalleled power density, with an impressive power density of up to 1042 kW/m2.

It features modularity, scaling capability, and high power for high-density applications, allowing customers to deploy a 1.25 MW modular UPS in a single frame. The design provides both power andspace benefits.

The new UPS has a 52% smaller footprint compared to the industry average, making it a key component for prefabricated data centers, while the scalable, modular design also enables N+1 levels of redundancy, which increases the system’s availability by a factor of 10.

The Galaxy VXL provides two different operating modes, to ensure greater efficiency. In its high-efficiency eConversion mode it boasts 99% efficiency, while in its double conversion mode, the new UPS achieves an efficiency rate of up to 97.5%, providing Class-1 power protection alongside leading levels of energy reduction.

The Galaxy VXL is compatible with both Lithium-ion and VRLA batteries, and its Live Swap function allows for easier serviceability, offering resilient runtimes.

The system also includes remote monitoring capabilities via Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure IT software, and enhanced security and ethernet connections, certified to IEC 62443-4-2 security standards, providing a completely secure and connected remote management experience.
Key features of the Galaxy VXL include:*Modular, Scalable Design: Users can add power modules as their needs grow, reducing initial CapEx. Smaller Footprint: 52percent more compact compared to the industry average.

Efficiency and Sustainability: Up to 99percent efficiency in eConversion mode, reducing energy costs.

Reduced energy costs and easy serviceThe Galaxy VXL is immediately available in all 400V IEC regions worldwide. To meet growing customer demand, Schneider Electric is increasing production capacity, with plans to produce over 9,000 units in 2025.
