YOUNG Africans Sports Club manager Walter Harrison has confirmed that the team’s preparations for their upcoming Premier League clash against Kagera Sugar are nearly complete.
Young Africans will take on Kagera Sugar tomorrow at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam, with kickoff set for 4:00 PM.
The Jangwani-based side head into the match with high confidence following their recent victory in the Federation Cup.
Speaking about the team’s readiness, Harrison emphasized their determination to maintain their winning momentum as they continue their campaign to defend the Premier League title.
“Everything is progressing smoothly, and our preparations are thorough. The squad is fully assembled, with all players available for selection, giving the coach the flexibility to field the best possible lineup,” Harrison said.
He further underlined the significance of the fixture, stressing that Young Africans remain focused on their objectives of winning both the league and the Federation Cup this season.
“The match against Kagera Sugar is crucial for us. Our primary goals are to win the Premier League and the Federation Cup, so every game must align with this mission. We need our fans’ support to help us achieve these targets,” he added.
Young Africans have dominated recent encounters against Kagera Sugar, winning four of their last five meetings. The only time they dropped points in this fixture was last season when the two sides played out a goalless draw.
In their most recent Premier League outing, Young Africans produced a commanding performance, thrashing Fountain Gate FC 5-0. Meanwhile, Kagera Sugar are coming off a heavy 5-2 defeat to Simba SC, a result that further deepened their struggles this season.
Young Africans currently sit second in the Premier League standings with 39 points from 15 matches, having won 13 and lost two. They are chasing table leaders Simba in a bid to reclaim the top spot.
Kagera Sugar, on the other hand, are battling at the bottom of the table. They occupy 15th place with 11 points from 15 matches, managing just two wins, five draws, and eight losses.
With Young Africans determined to keep their title defense on track and Kagera Sugar desperate for points to climb out of the relegation zone, tomorrow’s clash promises to be a crucial fixture for both sides.
