THE Tanzania Worldwide Sports Chamber of Commerce (TWSCC) has announced the upcoming Tanzania Sports Week (TSW), which will take place from December 10 to 12 in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam in a press briefing yesterday, TWSCC president Steven Mkomwa said that the inaugural event will bring together key stakeholders from the sports community including government officials, sports administrators, coaches, athletes, and corporate partners.

Mkomwa said that the inaugural event aims to foster growth, collaboration, and innovation across the Tanzanian sports sector including the global trends and their implications for Tanzania.

He said during the week-long program the participants discuss and address major challenges and opportunities in Tanzania's sports sector.

Mkomwa highlighted that TSW will serve as a vital platform for dialogue on the current state of sports in Tanzania covering issues like funding, infrastructure development, and gender equality in sports.

He said panel discussions and workshops will focus on the topics, providing a space to develop actionable strategies for sustainable sports growth.

 Furthermore, participants will explore opportunities for sectoral growth through roundtable discussions on innovative funding models, sports technology, and successful case studies from local sports programs.

During the discussion, he said keynote speakers and interactive sessions will also emphasize the critical role of education in sports, the importance of community development, and the need for a robust national sports strategy.

 “TSW is an important platform to discuss challenges and chart a way forward to foster growth and innovation in the sports sector,” he said.
