Simba SC has concluded its training camp in the serene Zanzibar. The team will now make their way back to Dar es Salaam, where they have two more days to fine-tune their preparations before the crucial match scheduled for Friday at 9 p.m.

The Msimbazi Street outfit’s head coach Abdelhak Benchikha has utilized this period effectively to ensure his team is well-prepared.

Training sessions are held at night, mirroring the conditions of the upcoming game.

The club disclosed that the priority is to reach the CAF Champions League's last-four phase hence the need to clear the Al Ahly hurdle to achieve the feat.

The only acceptable outcome at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Friday is a victory for Simba SC. The team and its supporters are geared up for an intense showdown.

Simba SC’s management has confirmed the arrival of Al Ahly’s contingent in the country on Wednesday, two days ahead of the clash with the Msimbazi Street outfit.

In a proactive move, Simba SC’s Information and Communication Manager, Ahmed Ally, has urged fans to seize the remaining days to secure their tickets and ensure a packed Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

“Now, as we approach the crucial week, it’s decision time for our fans to secure tickets for our showdown against Al Ahly,” Ally expressed on his social media platform.

Commenting on the status of the team’s goalkeeper, Aishi Manula, who got injured during Taifa Stars' match against Bulgaria in Baku on Friday, he said they are waiting for the official update from the senior national team’s doctors.

“We are waiting to hear from them about the seriousness of his injury and whether he needs a long time to recover or not,” he said.

Furthermore, he disclosed that until now, no injuries have been reported among their players.

He also remarked that some of Simba SC’s players who were in Taifa Stars' squad for the 2024 FIFA Series were expected back in the country to join their teammates.

While Platinum, Tanzanite, and VIP A tickets have been sold out, there has been a sluggish pace in the purchase of remaining tickets.

However, it is expected that momentum will pick up in the coming days, with hopes of a full house at the Mkapa Stadium.

With just two days left until the highly anticipated quarterfinal match between Simba SC and Al Ahly, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch.

The duo will Interface in the second leg clash at Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on April 5 whose overall winner books a ticket into the CAF Champions League semi-finals.

This Friday marks the showdown at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where Simba SC will go head-to-head against Al Ahly, aiming for a spot in the semi-finals.

This clash is not only eagerly awaited in Tanzania but also across the entire African continent.
