HASSAN Raza put on a solid display with the bat to catapult Pak Stars A to a 113-run victory over Dar Indian Titans in the recent 2025 Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) DC Super League clash at Annadil Burhani Oval in Dar es Salaam.

Pak Stars A raced to 291/8 in the scheduled 50 overs once Dar Indian Titans had won the toss and elected to field.

Raza was in great form with the bat as Pak Stars A searched for an imposing figure, with the cricketer ending seven runs short of a century.

There was equally notable showing by Basit Raza (37 runs) and Mohamed Ali, who made his way back with 43 runs.

Zamoyoni Ramadhan, who notched 26 runs, and Farhan Atiq (21 runs) ensured Pak Stars A kept on adding more runs and staying in control.

The quintet duly stepped up once the reliable top three batsmen in the list had faltered early on.

Openers Kashif Adnan - who ended with a run - and Nasser Yatoo, who scored three runs, failed to repel a bowling surge by Dar Indian Titans, leaving the crease early.

Dar Indian Titans' bowling unit wound up with 56 runs, which greatly benefitted the opponents.

The extras were 47 wides, four leg byes, a bye, and four no-balls.

Ally Hafidh, who took 3-56, and medium pacer Nyenje Hashim were the bowlers with meaningful contributions in the overall woeful Dar Indian Titans fielding. Hashim ended with 2-28.

Chasing the 292-run target turned out to be a tough ask, once Dar Indian Titans took the crease, given they ended up posting 178/10.

The short stays by top-order performers spelt doom for the batting team, with Kishan Chandra's 19 runs happening to be the worthy contribution within the 20 overs of the team's batting time.

Gurvinder Singh was ultimately the batsman with the most runs when Dar Indian Titans batted, having garnered 30 runs.

There were further encouraging knocks by Hafidh, given the cricketer posted 27 runs.

Hassan Raza ruthlessly spearheaded Pak Stars A's successful bowling plan that foiled Dar Indian Titans' batting attack.

The bowler had impressive figures of 3-17, with Mohammad Ali duly chipping in with 2-22 for Pak Stars A.

The league, a TCA officer stated, features the top cricket teams in Tanzania, put into two groups.

Group A teams are Aga Khan SC, Delaware Upanga SC- A, Patel Brotherhood A, Dar Indian Titans, and Pak Stars A. 

Caravans, Strikers, Aces A, Gymkhana, and Lions A have been placed in Group B.

The showdown began on January 4, 2025, marking an exciting start to Tanzania’s premier cricket competition.
