ALLIANCE Caravans prolonged their winning ways in the 2024 Petrofuel TCA Caravans T20 Cup with a 32-run defeat of Generics Gymkhana in Dar es Salaam last Saturday.

The tie, one of the day's two interesting games, had Generics Gymkhana winning the toss and electing to field against Alliance Caravans at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club venue.

Some disciplined bowling by Generics Gymkhana restricted Alliance Caravans to 127/7 in the latter's 20-over quota, with skipper Akhil Anil’s 42 off 31 being the crucial contribution in the encounter.

Generics Gymkhana, who were required to amass 128 runs to come out victorious, fell short of the target by 32 runs having finished at 95/8 in their 20-over quota.

Apart from Nikala Nishanga’s 34 off 31, there were no formidable challenges placed by the batting squad to wade off Alliance Caravans' bowling unit's onslaught.

Anil was adjudged the Ras Logistics Man of the Match for his important batting innings, while Generics Gymkhana's Yalinde Maurice’s four crucial overs- which saw the performer take one wicket and give away just 12 runs- was considered the Medinova Moment of the Match.

The day's other duel played at Annadil Burhani Club pitted Econo Lodge Lions against Harab Motors Pak Stars.

Econo Lodge Lions batted first against Harab Motors Pak Stars, scoring just 91/9 in 20 overs with Mohammad Ali and Aqib Liaqat earning three scalps apiece for Harab Motors Pak Stars.

In return, Harab Motors Pak Stars reached the 92-run target in just nine overs- losing six wickets.

Mohamed Omary’s 36 runs off 17 balls were the highlight of the eventual winners' innings. For the bowling side, Rehaan Rafiq’s four-wicket haul stood out of the rest.

Omary was, consequently, adjudged the Ras Logistics Man of the Match for his 36 runs off 17 deliveries, and Rafiq’s stellar four-wicket haul was considered the Medinova Moment of the Match.
