A string of poor results is haunting Singida Fountain Gate FC as the second round of this season's NBC Premier League is gathering pace.

Such a trend has forced the outfit's leadership to fire interim head coach Thabo Senong and his technical bench and hire Tanzanian Jamhuri Kihwelo to coach the side for the remaining matches.

Singida Fountain Gate FC is one of the NBC Premier League sides that signed several top footballers, seeking to embark on a good run in the top flight.

The side lost key footballers during mini transfer window, having sold seven players to Ihefu SC.

The side further had left fullback Gadiel Michael and goal-getter Meddie Kagere moving to South Africa's Cape Town Spurs and Namungo FC on loan.

In some of Singida Fountain Gate FC's recent clashes, the squad went down 3-1 to Simba SC at Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Before the loss, the side- now relocated to Mwanza- had two defeats and one draw. It lost to Tanzania Prisons (3-1) and Kagera Sugar (1-0), and managed a 1-1 draw with Azam FC.

Having gained less satisfactory outcomes, Senong claimed that the absence of key players- who mostly made the starting squad -has had his technical bench failing to get a better squad for fixtures.

One of the soccer stakeholders revealed the key footballers were the ones who played a crucial role in the club's success and their absence is now observed.

"Poor results have had Singida Fountain Gate FC dropping to the relegation zone. The club's key players have moved to Ihefu SC," Dotto Mnehele stated.

The team's footballers that headed to Ihefu SC during the mini-transfer period are Elvis Rupia, Duke Abuya, Morice Chukwu, Joash Onyango, Mukrim Issa, Marouf Tchakei and Abubakar Khomeini.
