On September 17, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 2 (Regional Director Seoyeon Lee) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the realization of world peace with Ms. Sherazi Numera Mohsin, President of the Adept Chairwoman Association in Saudi Arabia, at Hayoung Hall, located in Kensington Resort in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province.

1The Adept Chairwoman Association is an organization that empowers women and educates them on the value of women, conducting various projects to enhance women's capacities.

The two parties discussed practical and specific plans to support and promote the legalization of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) through IWPG peace events, Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE) for women, media and SNS, and the establishment of a Peace Committee. They agreed to continue cooperating in peace activities.

President Sherazi Numera Mohsin stated, “It was an honor to attend the 2024 International Women’s Peace Conference and receive such a warm welcome. I think of IWPG as a source of global prosperity, peace, resilience, and growth. If a branch were established in Saudi Arabia, we would be able to engage in more active initiatives.”

Regional Director of G2 Seoyeon Lee said, “The world is still plagued by continuous wars. Now is the time for women to raise their voices to leave peace as a legacy for future generations. Let’s work together with IWPG to raise awareness of the importance of peace education and continuously collaborate to achieve peace with many peace-loving women in Saudi Arabia.”

Meanwhile, IWPG is a global women’s NGO registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC). IWPG has 114 branches and members in 122 countries, and 730 partner organizations across 66 countries. With the vision of realizing ‘sustainable world peace,’ IWPG actively promotes the spread of the solidarity needed in the world, the dissemination of a culture of peace, women’s peace education, and the support and promotion of the DPCW’s legalization.
