PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has pledged to elevate the status of teachers, declaring that the government will reassess their benefits to honor them as the ‘Mothers of all Professions.’

Speaking in Dodoma today on February 1, 2025, during the launch of the Education and Training Policy (2014, 2023 Edition), President Samia highlighted the government's commitment to revisiting teachers' benefits, ensuring they are properly recognized and respected as the cornerstone of all professions.

“We will revisit the benefits for teachers, to ensure they receive the respect and recognition they deserve as the foundation of all professions,” she said.

The Head of State outlined the policy’s goal of expanding the country’s educational infrastructure, urging the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Governments (PO-RALG) to formulate a detailed plan for its implementation.

“The success of this policy depends on collective action. Children must attend school, parents must ensure they stay on track, and the government must oversee the quality of education while elevating the teaching profession.”

She added: “This policy requires significant investment. I have encouraged the Minister to move forward, trusting that we will find the resources we need. However, the key to success lies within our own country—boosting domestic revenue collection. Let’s stand firm in our commitment: Always ask for a receipt when you buy and always provide one when you sell. Together, we must hold those who evade taxes accountable.”
