Kilombero Sugar Company welcomed back the Illovo Sugar Africa Kilimanjaro Climber team and the iconic brand "Bwana Sukari" at a ceremony at Marangu Gate. The group was presented with certificates for reaching Uhuru Peak at 5895 meters after successfully ascending Mount Kilimanjaro.

The group received certificates for successfully climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, reaching Uhuru Peak at 5895 meters (19,341 ft) above sea level. They aimed to honor Mandela's legacy and raise funds for Period Poverty, supporting 20,000 girls in countries where Illovo Sugar operates.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism, Nkoba Mabula, praised the climbers for their safe return and efforts to combat Period Poverty. He emphasized the government's support for the tourism sector.

Mr. Derick Stanley, Corporate Affairs Director of Kilombero Sugar, highlighted the host country's vital role in the Mount Kilimanjaro expedition.

He emphasized diversity and inclusion and praised the 'Bwana Sukari' product for reaching the summit, symbolizing quality and market presence.

The Tanzania Tourist Board sees the expedition as a catalyst for enriching tourism, and the Climber lead team encouraged global participation. Kilombero Sugar, committed to community well-being, donated 2400 sanitary pads to Mieresini Secondary School in Kilimanjaro.
