THE Dar es Salaam Water and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) plans to expand its water network to benefit more citizens facing challenges.

Leonard Msenyele, director of water production and distribution at DAWWASA, announced this yesterday during a visit by Kinondoni District local government leaders to Lower Ruvu plant. The visit was meant to involve local leaders in DAWASA’s efforts to provide clean water services.

Msenyele highlighted the importance of engaging local leaders due to their close connection with residents.

“We invited the leaders from Kinondoni Municipality   to help convey our message to citizens effectively,” he said. “Their involvement ensures that any challenges are quickly communicated to us.”

Kinondoni District Commissioner, Saad Mtambula, praised DAWASA for involving grassroots leaders in its development initiatives, calling it   strong strategy for ensuring participation and transparency in project implementation.

“DAWASA is a model institution in Kinondoni and Dar es Salaam, providing clean and safe water services. I commend their efforts,” said Mtambula.

Kisiwani Street Chairman Athumani Issa expressed gratitude for the visit, noting that it had provided valuable insights into water production processes. “This visit had taught me a lot. The government is investing heavily to ensure citizens receive clean water,” he said.
