TANZANIA and Indonesia have agreed to collaborate in promoting investment between the two countries for the economic benefit of their people.

Speaking yesterday in Dar es Salaam upon receiving Indonesian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pahala Mansury, who is in the country to officially invite Tanzania to the Indonesia African Forum, Deputy Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Stanslaus Nyongo, stated that the two countries have agreed to the strategic collaboration.

"The delegation from the Republic of Indonesia, led by Minister Mansury, arrived in the country to invite Tanzania to the Trade Conference scheduled to take place from September 1-3, 2024, in Indonesia. We have accepted to participate in the Conference," he said.

Nyongo also highlighted that they have discussed various issues, including Indonesia's interest in investing in sectors such as agricultural production, and clean energy production, as well as investments in various networks, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Deputy Minister Nyongo mentioned that one Indonesian company is ready to implement a project for producing fertilizer from gas in Tanzania, with the project costing approximately $1.2 billion.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Pahala Mansury, mentioned that they have organized the Trade Conference with African countries to strengthen cooperation, particularly with Tanzania, in economic matters.

Mansury stated that Indonesia continues to invest in the country, including in vital sectors such as oil and gas, mineral processing, and other food production issues.

He said the trade conference will involve discussions among ministers from various sectors, Indonesian businesspeople, and businesses from various African countries, especially Tanzania.
