CCM Secretary-General Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi has directed four key ministries to address urgent issues, including power outages and water scarcity in Mwandiga, Kigoma Region.

Dr. Nchimbi, who began a three-day visit to Kigoma on August 4, 2024, issued several directives while meeting with Mwandiga residents during a stop en route to Kasulu District.

He affirmed the CCM-led government's commitment to addressing community concerns and improving living conditions in the region and across Tanzania.

His first directive was to the Minister for Energy, instructing the ministry to expedite the electrification of hamlets following the completion of village electrification nationwide.

Additionally, Dr. Nchimbi directed the Minister for Home Affairs to ensure the construction of a police station in Mwandiga and surrounding areas to enhance the safety of residents and their property. This need was highlighted by signs welcoming the Secretary-General and was also requested by local legislator Assa Makanika during a development meeting for the constituency.

"I noticed the signs upon arrival, and my aides have taken note. One sign requesting a police station particularly stood out. It is reassuring to see that those seeking security are making such requests. Only good people ask for such things," Dr. Nchimbi remarked.

He further instructed the Minister for Home Affairs to ensure that the police station is completed before the next General Election and urged the Regional Commissioner of Kigoma to collaborate with the Minister to achieve this goal.

Dr. Nchimbi also directed the Minister of Regional Administration and Local Government, represented by Deputy Minister Zainabu Katimba, to expedite the construction of a health center in the Mwandiga ward. He emphasized that the project should proceed without delay.

“The Deputy Minister’s explanation was satisfactory, but the health center must be completed before the next General Election. Please convey this to the Minister,” he added.

Furthermore, Dr. Nchimbi urged the Ministry of Water to address the inadequate water supply in Mwandiga and called on the Minister for Water to visit the area urgently to resolve the issue.

“The Minister must come here promptly. Upon arrival in Kigoma, they should visit Mwandiga to find a solution to the water network issue, so we can resolve this challenge in Kigoma North,” he said, commending the ministers for their efforts and adherence to the CCM 2020-2025 Election Manifesto.

During his visit, Dr. Nchimbi was accompanied by CCM Secretary for Organisation Issa Haji Ussi Gavu, Secretary for Ideology, Publicity, and Training Amos Makalla, and Secretary for Political and International Relations Rabia Abdallah Hamid.
