Kikwete, Nchimbi stress unity as tool for CCM victory

FORMER President Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, has expressed satisfaction with the state of unity among members of the rulling Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

Dr Kikwete  emphasized that unity among members is the cornerstone and a crucial weapon, especially as the country approaches the Local Government and General Elections next year.

The retired leader made these remarks today, Monday, July 1, 2024, during a meeting with CCM Secretary General Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, who paid him a courtesy call at his offices in Masaki, Dar Es Salaam.

Kikwete took the opportunity to commend Ambassador Nchimbi on the effective implementation of the party's Chairperson directives  urging party leaders to engage directly with members to address their concerns.

Additionally, President Kikwete commended the new Secretariat of the National Executive Committee (NEC) for its efforts to strengthen the party and ensure proper implementation of the 2020-2025 manifesto.

"Unity and solidarity among CCM members have always been the secret and strength behind CCM's victories. That's why we always say our unity is our victory. We are delighted to see how CCM members, under the leadership of our chairperson has continued to strengthen this foundation," said Kikwete.

In his remarks, ambassador Dr. Nchimbi hailed former party leaders for their ongoing mentorship and ethical guidance of current leaders.

Ambassador Dr. Nchimbi affirmed CCM's commitment to honoring and listening to retired leaders, recognizing their significant contributions to the nation during their terms of leadership.
