Samia leads transformative governance with strategic appointments

IN a strategic effort to improve governance and efficiency within the administration, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has orchestrated new appointments and reshuffled existing leaders.

This was disclosed in a statement issued today July 2, 2024, by Chief Secretary Amb. Dr. Moses Kusiluka, revealing President Samia’s appointment of Dr Selemani Jafo as Industry and Trade Minister.

Prior to the appointment Dr Jafo acted as Minister of State in the Vice-President’s Office (Union and Environment)

The statement further indicated that the Head of State has also appointed Dr Ashatu  Kijaji as Minister of State in the Vice-President’s Office (Union and Environment) a role she takes after serving as Industry and Trade Minister.

Eng Yahya Samamba,  has been appointed as permanent secretary of the ministry of minerals who prior to the appointment acted as the Mining Commission executive secretary replacing Kheri Mahimbali who awaits another appointment.

Furthermore, President Samia has appointed Juma Mwenda as Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Commissioner General a role he takes after serving as Zanzibar Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General.

Additionally, President Samia has appointed Alphayo Kidata as Presidents aide, the President’s office, prior to the appointment Kidata acted as TRA Commissioner General.
