Vodacom Tanzania has been certified as a Top Employer for the eighth year in a row by the Top Employers Institute, earning the number one ranking in Tanzania for 2025.

This recognition emphasizes Vodacom’s commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel empowered, supported, and valued, while advancing the company’s purpose of connecting for a better future.

The certification places Vodacom Tanzania among other recognized Vodacom Group companies, including Vodacom South Africa, Vodacom Mozambique, and Safaricom Kenya, all celebrated for their dedication to fostering people-centric workplace practices across the region.

In 2024, Vodacom Tanzania enhanced its Employee Value Proposition with initiatives focused on inclusivity, personal development, and well-being.

These efforts included investments in training and skills development, flexible working arrangements to supporting work-life balance, and progressive policies aimed at creating a positive and inclusive work environment.

This achievement highlights the organization’s ongoing efforts to build a culture where individuals can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

Vodacom acknowledges the vital role of its employees, whose dedication and contributions remain central to its success. By earning this prestigious certification, Vodacom Tanzania continues to set a benchmark for excellence in employee relations in the country.

“Maintaining our position as Tanzania’s Top Employer demonstrates our dedication to enabling our employees to thrive. We go an extra mile to make our employees feel valued by offering a wide range of benefits for them and their families. In our quest to empower youth, we continue to grow young talent through our graduate trainee program, encourage women participation in tech through our Code-Like-a-Girl program and recently, we introduced the Digital Skills Hub to offer free online and self-paced training to both male and female youth aged between 18 and 35 years of age who are the future of work in the rapidly evolving digital economy,” says Vivienne Penessis, Human Resources Director at Vodacom Tanzania.

The Top Employers Institute Company bestows this accolade to companies based on their performance in key domains such as people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, and well-being.

With more Tanzanian organizations participating in the Top Employer certification, it has enabled the organizers to score them based on these criteria, thereby identifying Vodacom Tanzania as the number 1 Top Employer in the country.

“For eight consecutive years we have been awarded Top Employer, reinforcing our purpose. This year is a highlight, seeing more submission meant benchmarks and taking number one position in Tanzania is exhilarating” remarked Philip Besiimire, Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director.

“As an organization, our approach goes beyond how we design and deliver our products and services, to how we care for our employees, and building a future ready workforce that can contribute to Tanzania’s growth and development. As a Top Employer, we will continue to make opportunities available within and outside Vodacom, foster a positive work environment and empower our employees.” adds the Vodacom Tanzania CEO.
