Tanzania has initiated a two-year collaboration with the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and Airtel Tanzania to streamline and accelerate the onboarding process for both local and international investors.

This collaboration between TIC and Airtel Tanzania demonstrates a commitment to accelerating Tanzania’s economic growth by creating a more conducive investment environment. 

Commenting on the partnership, TIC Executive Director Gilead Teri  stated, Airtel Tanzania’s involvement will enhance  the TIC’s visibility to effectively and efficiency utilize ICT services to address the inquires and concerns to potential investors interested in Tanzania. 

"Airtel Tanzania is 49 percent government-owned, showcasing a strong commitment from a governmental entities to support Tanzania’s economic growth, specifically in investment. Over the next two years , both TIC and Airtel Tanzania will leverage each other’s expertise and technology to positively impact our country,’’ Teri added. 

Airtel Tanzania Managing Director, Dinesh Balsingh, highlighted that this will partnership will support Tanzania’s economic growth and facilitate the country’s advancement into the digital economy, promoting effective and seamless interaction to attract potential investors. 

“This collaboration comes following the activation of the 2Africa Subsea Cable which has the potential to revolutionize the technology sector. Managed by Airtel Tanzania this cable will transform the county into a digital hub, enhancing engagements between TIC and potential investors globally,’’ Balsingh detailed.

Balsingh further explained that with Airtel’s firm connectivity, TIC is set to attract more investors to Tanzania’s market, potentially increasing the number of projects reregistered under the investments center.

He also added that TIC partnership with Airtel allows local investors to easily pay the necessary TIC-related costs for registration and documentation through Airtel Money.
