GOVERNMENT has come up with a plan to prevent licensing for investors in the mining industry who will come to invest without a strong plan to increase the value of minerals produced locally, including benefiting small -scale miners.
The government has said it has strengthened protection in various border areas in the country to prevent the deportation of various minerals that are mined in different areas.
This was noted by the Minister of Minerals, Antony Mavunde, during the inauguration of the Copper Minerals Factory located in the Nala County located in Dodoma built by Shengde Company
Mavunde said the government's intention is to see locally produced minerals being added to the benefit of small -scale miners, but also the country benefits from the value of the minerals, including youth employment.
"We come up with a strategy to ensure that small -scale miners benefit from investments made by investors, so the investor who comes without a strategic plan to increase the value of the minerals will not be licensed," said Mavunde.
Mavunde said the government is doing so to ensure President Samia Suluhu Hassan's mission to benefit small -scale miners are benefiting from the resources available in their country, including promoting the country's economy through the mining sector.
As a result Minister Mavunde has called on investors interested in investing, in the mining sector to come up with a strategic plan that will benefit small -scale miners in various parts of the country.
He said the mining sector is currently in its contribution to GDP where he said the sector has earned 753bn/- into the state fund for 2023 and 2024, where this year they are going
Mavunde said for the first time the industry is going to write a history of contributing huge sums of money to the state fund and adding that the issue is possible.
Commenting on the mining of the border, he said the government had taken various steps to strengthen the boundaries, including controlling mining exports.
Meanwhile Chairman of the Mineral Miners Thobias Ntebe said one of the challenges they had included the presence of the complexity of the minerals of minerals from the area to another area.
As a result, they have called on the government to improve infrastructure to reduce or completely eliminate the complex, including requesting to eliminate taxes on imported machines for various use of mining value chain.
For his part, Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Rosemary Senyamule said Dodoma is leading many types of minerals and calls on investors to take advantage of investment opportunities in various areas.
