TANZANIANS have been asked to come out in large numbers to witness golf talents displayed at the golf tournament slated for July 5-7 at the Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam recently, Lugalo Golf Club chairman Michael Luwongo said that the showdown will be one of its kind due to the improvements made.
He also said that the tournament would involve various clubs in Tanzania and outfits from outside the country, pointing out that there would be three categories - youths, children, and adults.
"The tournament will be one of its kind due to the preparations made by our sponsors, network service provider Vodacom Tanzania," Luwongo noted.
Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) president Gilman Kasiga said golfers who will do well in the tournament will have the opportunity to participate in various popular showdowns.
"I call on the players to compete, knowing that the winner will have the opportunity to participate in the World Championships," Kasiga appealed.
He congratulated Vodacom Tanzania for sponsoring the tournament and promised to cooperate with the company to promote the game of golf.
Representative of the sponsor of the tournament, Aileen Meena, said they will continue cooperating with the club.
"Despite sponsoring the showdown, we will be providing technology services that will help players see what they are doing through various social networks," Aileen revealed.
She said the winners will get cash prizes and trophies, adding the prizes have been significantly improved.
