THE 2024 edition of the NCBA Golf Series kicked off on Saturday at the Gymkhana Golf Club in Dar es Salaam. This event follows the series’ initial leg in Arusha on July 29, which was marked by the presence of Dr. Damas Ndumbaro, the Minister of Sports, Culture, and Arts.

This year's Dar es Salaam tournament promises to be even more exciting, featuring a diverse lineup of golfing talents akin to the standout performances of George Ogutu and Salim Sharif in the 2023 edition.

Participants will vie for a significant cash prize and an elegant golf bag valued at 3 million Tshs. The winner will also receive a fully-covered trip to Nairobi to attend the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale in November, underscoring the bank's commitment to elevating golf on the international stage.

An NCBA representative stated: “Attendees at the Gymkhana Golf Club can look forward to an event of international standard. Our commitment to advancing Tanzanian talent and promoting golf as a sport is evident in our efforts, and this tournament will reflect that.”

The tournament will also feature the Maisha Ni Hesabu Na NCBA financial literacy package, offering valuable insights into managing, spending, and investing money.

Additionally, the event will support the Make Believe tree-planting initiative, where each golf achievement contributes to environmental protection. By correlating each accomplishment on the golf course with tree planting in Tanzania, the initiative embodies the principle: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; the second-best time is now.”

The golf series in Dar es Salaam is set to be a must-attend event, showcasing exceptional golfing talent and contributing to meaningful environmental and financial causes.
