THE Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT) has revealed the national boxing team made up of eight pugilists and two coaches for the All-Africa Games to be held in Accra, Ghana.
According to the federation’s secretary-general, Makore Mashaga, the boxers, involving six males and two females, will represent the nation in the Games slated for March 15-23.
He said the team is expected to leave for Accra on March 9.
The male boxers announced by the federation yesterday are Yusuf Changalawe who fights in the 81kg division, Abdallah Mohamed-51kg, Abdallah Mfaume-67kg, Ezra Paul-60kg, Mussa Maregesi-86kg, and Mhina Magogo-92kg.
The female boxers are Zulfa Macho- fighting in 52kg-, and Miriam Maligisa who fights in the 48kg.
The team will be under coaches Samwel Kapungu and Muhsin Mohamed.
Meanwhile, domestic boxer Lucas Changalawe left for Italy on Thursday to participate in the Paris Olympic Games qualifiers slated for March 1-11.
After the Paris Olympic Games qualifiers, Changalawe will join other boxers who will represent the nation in the All-Africa Games in Accra.
