TBS explores service week to inform people on standards, quality control

THE Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) has utilised this year’s Public Service Week celebrations to educate the general public on standards and quality control.

Viola Masako, TBS director of human resources and administration unveiled this here over the weekend when speaking with journalists at the Public Service Week celebrations held at Chinangali grounds on the outskirts of the capital city.

Masako said that TBS has participated in providing education on issues of standards and quality control to stakeholders and people, including educating them on the various responsibilities that TBS is carrying out.

  "In this year’s Public Service Week celebrations, people who visited the TBS Pavilion were able to be informed and most of them had a mission to understand the quality control issues that the experts have been able to inform them about but also how they can reach TBS," said Masako

She said that people who are the consumers of the produced goods have been informed that they can reach the office through TBS regional offices, which are in seven regions including the Eastern region in Dar es Salaam, the northern region in Arusha, the southern region in Mtwara, the Western region in Kigoma, the South Highlands region in Mbeya, the central region in Dodoma and the Lake zone region in Mwanza.

Masako added: "All these regions serve all the regions in Tanzania, so it is easy to get our services easily."

She also said TBS has been providing its services through various electronic systems in serving together and solving people’s challenges.
