AIR Tanzania Company limited (ATCL) managing director Engineer Ladislaus Matindi has urged the country’s youth to consider taking cabin crew training, citing ample job opportunities in both local and international organisations.

Eng Matindi made the remarks in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during a graduation ceremony for 56 students who successfully completed the cabin crew course at the ATCL Training Centre (ATTC). The graduates received certificates in recognition of their achievement.

He said the selection process for the course was competitive, beginning with 180 applicants. After rigorous screenings, only 56 students were selected for graduation.

He said cabin crew courses place a number of opportunities due to the rapid growth of the aviation industry.

“These students have demonstrated exceptional capability and commitment. Their primary responsibility as flight crew is to ensure the safety of passengers, their belongings, and the aircraft. Providing excellent customer service is a top priority in fulfilling these duties.”

He also noted that graduates from the programme have been quick to find employment, with many securing positions in major international airlines and local organisations.

“Our graduates meet the demands of both local and foreign labour markets, which has greatly contributed to their success,” Matindi added.

The director highlighted the growing aviation industry, which has led to a surge in applications for the cabin crew course.

He attributed this increase to the expansion of ATCL’s modern aircraft fleet, as well as the availability of professional trainers and training equipment.

Matindi said the investment to expand the training centre demonstrates confidence in the future of the business and the company’s commitment to providing the most up-to-date training to enhance safety and competence across the industry.

He further announced plans for ATCL to establish additional training branches outside Dar es Salaam to better serve its stakeholders’ needs.

Elly Ndekile, ATTC Principal noted that since its inception, the institution has produced over 700 qualified graduates.

The graduation ceremony took place at the Tanzania Airline Academy, located at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Terminal 1, in Dar es Salaam.
