ATCL commends government investment to enable it to compete

THE Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), has commended several steps taken by the government to continue investing in the company which has enabled it to continue to compete in the national and international markets.

In a statement released yesterday to the media, stated that the sixth phase government has always been strengthening the company to increase its effectiveness.

"We thank President Samia Suluhu Hassan because we have seen her efforts to strengthen this company since she came in office three years ago and the company has gained strength to compete nationally and internationally," the statement said

In addition, the statement said some of the efforts made by the government include continuing to buy new and modern aircraft including passenger and cargo planes.

It said the government has been giving company permits to hire professionals of various cadres including pilots, engineers, flight attendants and facilitate the opening of new flight destinations inside and outside the country.

It said that this situation has enabled the company to expand the scope of its network as well as build the capacity of these professionals so that they can carry out their duties effectively.

Recently ATCL announced its plan to introduce direct flights from Dar es Salaam to Muscat in Oman.

This was revealed by the (ATCL), Managing Director, Eng. Ladislaus Matindi, when he held talks with the Ambassador of Oman in Dar es salaam, Saud bin Hilal Alshaidani.

"Procedures to open a center in Oman have started where Air Tanzania has found the main sales agent for its tickets in Oman, we have appointed the Manager of the Center" said Eng. Matindi

Air Tanzania currently operates domestic flights to more than ten destinations. For regional and international trips it has trips to Dubai (UAE), Mumbai (India), Guangzhou (China), Bujumbura (Burundi), Entebbe (Uganda), Hahaya (Comoro), Harare (Zimbabwe), Lusaka and Ndola (Zambia). , Nairobi (Kenya) and Lubumbashi (Congo).

In Tanzania, ATCL has been making its trips between Dar es Salaam to the regions of Dodoma, Mwanza, Mbeya, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Songea, Katavi, Zanzibar, Mtwara, Tabora and Kigoma.
