RUMOURS of Azam FC’s interest in Yanga’s star trio – Stephane Aziz Ki, Clement Mzize, and Djigui Diarra – and Simba SC’s midfield maestro Clatous Chama, have gained traction after Azam FC head coach Yousuph Dabo had seemingly confirmed the rumours.

Following Azam FC’s 1-0 victory over Ihefu SC in Dar es Salaam last Sunday, Dabo was asked by reporters about potential transfer targets for the outfit.

When specifically asked about Mzize, a highly coveted striker, Dabo acknowledged the forward's talent.

The Senegalese gaffer remarked: “Everyone knows Mzize’s competence, but there are several other exceptional players like Chama, Aziz Ki, Diarra, and Kibu Denis.”

“While I haven’t discussed these names with the management yet, acquiring them would undoubtedly strengthen our squad. Their performances in the NBC Premier League have showcased immense potential.”

Thabit Zakaria, Azam FC’s Information Officer, echoed Dabo’s sentiments, saying: “We’re committed to supporting the coach in securing his desired additions. While Dabo hasn’t formally presented a list except for Mzize, we have already approached Yanga regarding him.”

The official disclosed: “Interestingly, many of the players the coach mentioned are nearing the end of their contracts, potentially simplifying negotiations.”

Azam FC is actively pursuing reinforcements, and the team's sights are set on some of the biggest names in Tanzanian football.

This potential transfer saga could significantly impact the upcoming season’s landscape.

Among the players mentioned, Mzize appears to be the Chamazi Street club's top priority. His reputation as a prolific goal scorer gives him an edge, and his potential arrival would bolster Azam FC’s attacking prowess.

The reported transfer offer of 400m/- to Yanga underscores Azam FC’s determination to secure his services.

Azam FC’s pursuit of the top players would hardly move without hurdles. Convincing Yanga and Simba SC to part ways with such valuable assets will be a challenge.

Additionally, player wages and transfer fees will likely be significant stumbling blocks.

However, if Azam FC manages to pull off these transfers, the outfit could transform into a dominant force in Tanzanian football.

The combination of these players’ talent and Dabo’s tactical acumen could create a team with what it takes to effectively pursue both domestic and regional titles.

Will Azam FC manage to land their coveted targets and how will Yanga and Simba SC respond?

These questions will undoubtedly dominate discussions among soccer fanatics in Tanzania in the coming weeks and months as this intriguing transfer saga unfolds.
