Samia appoints, swears in Tanzania's top spy

President Samia Suluhu Hassan swearing in Suleiman Mombo as the Director General of the Tanzania Intelligence and Security Services (TISS).

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Suleiman Mombo as the Director General of the Tanzania Intelligence and Security Services (TISS).

This is according to a state statement released today, July 11, 2024, by Deputy Chief Secretary, Mululi Mahendeka.

Mombo was sworn in at the Dar es Salaam State House, replacing Ambassador Ali Idi Siwa, who has retired.

Prior to this appointment, Mombo held a senior position at the President’s office.
