President Samia pays tribute to Lawrence Mafuru following his passing

PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has mourned the passing of Lawrence Nyasebwa Mafuru, Executive Secretary of the Planning Commission, who passed away today, November 9, 2024, at Apollo Hospital in India.

The Head of State,  extended her heartfelt condolences via her X page @SuluhuSamia to the family, Minister of State, in the President's Office (Planning and Investment), Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, the staff of the Planning Commission, as well as his relatives, friends, and colleagues following this loss

"I have received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Lawrence Nyasebwa Mafuru, the Executive Secretary of the Planning Commission, who passed away today, November 9, 2024, at Apollo Hospital in India," she said.

"I extend my condolences to his family, the Minister of State, in the President's Office (Planning and Investment), Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, the staff of the Planning Commission, as well as his relatives, friends, and colleagues following this loss, " she added.

According to her, Mafuru will be remembered for his exceptional service, dedication, and innovation in the various roles he held within the Government.

"May God grant his family patience and resilience during this difficult time, and may his soul rest in eternal peace, Amen."
