PPA observes the importance of special groups

THE government has said that the new Public Procurement (PPA) Act has observed the importance of participation of people with special groups in all government procurement tender amounts up to 50m/-.

PPA  Cap ( R,E 2022)  provides for a preferential scheme specifically for the people with special groups.

Masunya Nashon, the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Manager of Research and Documents said that at the ongoing 48th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (48th DITF).

He said that the essence of inclusion of Special Groups in public procurement is to empower the groups since under normal procurement arrangements they will not be able to compete.

Nashon said the preferential scheme will enable special groups to benefit in various public procurement opportunities.
