Mbowe congratulates Lissu, Heche ahead of official election results
Freeman Mbowe, a CHADEMA chairmanship candidate, has extended his congratulations to Tundu Lissu and John Heche following their apparent victory in the leadership elections.
The elections, which began yesterday and concluded in the early hours of this morning, have yet to have official results announced. However, the developments indicate Lissu as the new Chairman and Heche as the Vice Chairman.
In a statement shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), Mbowe said, "I wholeheartedly accept the outcome of the general assembly elections of our party, CHADEMA, which concluded this morning, January 22, 2025. I congratulate Tundu Lissu and his colleagues on being entrusted with the leadership of the party, and I wish them all the best in advancing our party."
Party members and supporters are now awaiting the official announcement of the results.
