Police denies Dodoma's RPC report on sexually abused girl

THE Tanzania Police Force has denied the news reports highlighting a girl who was sexually abused and gang raped as a sex worker claimed to have officially released by Dodoma Police Commander (RPC), Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP), Theopista Mallya.

This is according to a statement released today August 19, 2024 Force’s Spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) David Misime noting that the official information released on 4th, 5th and 9th of August this year.

The statement further apologized to everyone touched and disappointed by the statement circulated in the media.

As further investigations are ongoing, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camilius Wambura has made sweeping changes by appointing SACP George Katabazi to replace SACP Mallya who has been transferred to the Headquarters.
