DEPUTY Speaker of the National Assembly, Mussa Azzan Zungu, has applauded the Shree Jalaram Seva Mandal for sponsoring the surgical treatment of 33 patients who could not afford essential medical care.

Speaking during his visit to the institution’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam over the weekend, Zungu praised the organization’s long-standing commitment to community welfare, particularly through healthcare services, food aid, and other forms of assistance.

He highlighted that for nearly 25 years, the institution has been a crucial partner in supporting underprivileged Tanzanians by providing critical medical services—efforts that align with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision of strengthening the national healthcare system.

Zungu further emphasized that President Samia has significantly improved health facilities, ensuring that every district and constituency now has adequate medical infrastructure.

He also noted that the institution’s support has greatly reinforced the government’s initiatives to enhance the health sector.

“This is the essence of a peaceful society—working together with the government to assist citizens, as it is both a duty and a principle emphasized in religious texts,” he stressed.

He added, “All of this has been possible because Tanzania is a peaceful nation, fostering development, and I urge the institution to continue providing various forms of aid.”

Said Nassoro, the medical operations coordinator, explained that the treatment costs for patients vary depending on their conditions. However, he reassured the public that the institution is committed to ensuring that no one is turned away due to financial constraints.

Dr Ford Chisongele, Director of Hafford Hospital in Dar es Salaam—which collaborates with the Shree Jalaram Seva Mandal to provide treatment—stated that they have been carrying out this work for 25 years, treating nearly 3,000 people.

He noted that the current program began this year and will continue throughout the year.

Dr Chisongele encouraged citizens to visit the Shree Jalaram Seva Mandal to access medical assistance and services.

A beneficiary of the aid, Said Mohamed, expressed his gratitude, describing the support provided by the Shree Jalaram Seva Mandal as invaluable. He encouraged the institution to continue its compassionate work.
