SERENGETI Balloon Safaris has performed its inaugural flight over the Tarangire National Park, marking the rollout of its services at the park.

The maiden voyage delighted 22 guests as they soared in two balloons from the launch site at the northwestern corner of the Silale swamp, traversed the ridge and glided over the verdant Tarangire valley.

“The experience culminated in a "Out of Africa" breakfast elegantly served under an acacia tree” said one of tourists, Claire Warner.

Renowned for its diverse wildlife and exceptional birdlife, Tarangire National Park presents an enticing alternative to the Serengeti.

This first flight showcased the park's unique charm and potential as a premier balloon safari destination.

“Climbing to approximately 800 feet, our guests enjoyed sweeping views over the woodland expanse while our team scouted potential landing zones,” said Paschal kirigiti, one of the organizers.

On descent over the western side of the ridge, tourists had sightings as they drifted into the open areas near the Tarangire River.

Wildlife sightings included elephants, buffalo, porcupines, waterbucks, bushbucks, white-headed vultures, hornbills, African green parrots and reedbucks, Kirigiti said.

Both balloons touched down at a serene open area adorned with baobab trees near the river, navigating a smooth 2-knot landing.

Guests were treated to a breakfast beneath a tree to the east of the river, following a celebratory champagne toast near the landing site.

“The new route over Tarangire highlights our commitment to innovation. This addition marks the fourth national park in our flight repertoire, joining Serengeti year-round across the park following migration patterns, NCAA from December to March and Ruaha from June to October,” he said.

With the increasing number of safari-goers focusing their explorations around Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorongoro, guests can now seamlessly include a magical balloon safari within Tarangire.
