MOBILE phone service provider—Vodacom Tanzania yesterday launched after-sales service repair centres to uplift digital inclusion to majority Tanzanians.

The idea is to ensure all individuals; including the most disadvantaged have access repair services directly at Vodacom shops.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam shortly after launching the centre, George Lugata, head of sales and operations underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction.

"Our priority is always to deliver the best experience to our customers, and after-sales service plays a crucial role in this. By partnering with top smartphone manufacturers, we can ensure that our customers have easy access to professional repair services, giving them peace of mind. Today’s launch is just the beginning, and we plan to expand these centers to meet growing demand across the country," said Lugata.

He said: “Currently, Vodacom operates 11 after-sales service repair centres across Tanzania. However, with the increasing number of smartphone sales, the company is planning to expand its network of repair centers to provide more widespread support. The initial focus is on the mentioned brands but as the project evolves, other smartphone brands will also be included.”

Vanessa Mlawi, firm’s retail shops manager emphasized the importance of the repair centres in maintaining customer loyalty.

"Reliable after-sales service not only enhances customer satisfaction but also strengthens our brand’s competitive edge. It helps us retain customers by addressing their issues promptly, while also providing opportunities to cross-sell other products and services,” she said.

“These centers give us valuable insights into customer needs, allowing us to adapt and improve our offerings," she said.

In addition to improving customer support, this initiative aligns with Vodacom’s mission to drive digital transformation across Tanzania. The repair centres will help retain customers within Vodacom’s network while promoting smartphone usage and digital literacy.

As Tanzania’s leading telecom and technology Company, with over 22 million subscribers, Vodacom continues to pioneer customer-centric solutions that meet the growing demands of its users.

With plans to expand the repair centres to additional regions, Vodacom remains committed to ensuring that customers can access reliable after-sales support, ultimately enhancing their experience and satisfaction with the brand.

The mobile firm launched the centres in partnership with smartphone manufacturers—Neon Ultra, Samsung, Vivo, Motorola, Honor and Oppo.
