The tour of the Spanish La Liga giants has been facilitated by the leading betting firm in the country, SportPesa Tanzania, in collaboration with La Liga.
Geoffrey Meena, TTB Head of Marketing, said: "This is the betting firm’s effort, SportPesa Tanzania, in promoting sports-tourism in the country.”
Sevilla FC are expected to arrive in the country on May 21 and after two days they will face domestic soccer giants, Simba Sports Club at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Meena said their board is now in preparations that will see Sevilla FC players and officials view some of tourist attractions in the country.
He said the areas to be visited by the Sevilla FC players and officials would be announced after the completion of the preparations.
He said there are so many tourist attractions, which the club players and officials would like to visit, but due to the time limit, they will have to select few to inspire them.
“We commend SportPesa Tanzania for their efforts in promoting the country’s sports and tourism. In 2017, we witnessed Everton FC from the English Premier League visit the country and conduct training for youths. They also visited tourist attractions,” he disclosed.
“We are sure that even Sevilla FC‘s visit has been prompted by Everton FC’s. We know Everton have promoted the country’s tourism following their visit to the country.”
“They were hosted well and they played safely. Many people want peace, you cannot visit a country, where there is breach of peace,” Meena disclosed.
Sevilla FC and Simba Sports Club match has been scheduled for May 23 at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
