NGO launches five-day rugby promotion in Dar

SIX Primary Schools in Dar es Salaam were involved in the launching of rugby promotion courtesy of British non-governmental organisation Bhubesi Pride Foundation (BFP), yesterday.

The NGO initiated the programe in partnership with Group Four security firmWhose official Alfred Elia said the promotion involves special training of the sport for pupils from Mapambano, Makumbusho, Victoria, Mugabe, Hananasifu and Shekilango Primary Schools.

After the training on Saturday, participants will be awarded certificates and trophies
He said the program, which has been conducted annually from January to July under sponsorship of the security firm, also involves rugby associations.

The promotion has also been held in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

Main objectives of the promotion has been to unity society through rugby, educate values and life skills, empower teachers and society leaders and to ensure that the empowerment is continuity.

The promotion has also been done in Arusha and Moshi where more than 600 pupils participated in rugby training.
