Morogoro resident killed in accidental gunfire

A resident of Bungui Gongola village, Matombo District in Morogoro region, Mwantunu Shabani (20) was accidentally killed by a fellow villager using a locally made hand gun.
Morogoro Regional Police Commander (RPC), Thobias Andengenya confirming the incident which occured over the week-end said that the villager Rajabu Ramadhani mishandled the gun (gobole), unintentionally firing in the direction of the woman who was nearby, blowing off her left leg and stomach.
The RPC said, the badly wounded woman was taken to the near-by Mvula dispensary where she died on arrival.
The police have launched investigation into the incident and are holding Rajabu for questioning.
Meanwhile, Police in Morogoro are looking for a woman suspected of dumping her one-day old infant.
Reports said that the dumped baby was found by Police at Mtibwa ward in Turiani, Mvomero district, Morogoro region.
