President Jakaya Kikwete leaves today for Abuja, Nigeria where he will attend the Leon H. Sullivan Summit which starts tomorrow, according to a statement issued yesterday by the State House.
The summit is held each year and it brings together the worlds political and business leaders.
Delegates will also be drawn from national and international civic societies, multinational organisations and members of academic institutions in order to focus attention and resources on Africas economic and social development.
The summit serves as a forum for economic and cultural co-operation between America and Africa, while highlighting key issues and best practices, stimulating discussion and defining opportunities promoting private enterprise and fostering high-leve strategic partnership, the statement partly reads.
The summit will focus on marshalling resources to expand the Private sector, building works, economic infrastructure and sharing technologies.
Plenary sessions and forums will focus on three themes: Creating facilitative conditions for the growth of private sector, connecting people and technologies to support the development of a productive population and supporting international policies and business practices that advance Africas development.
