JKT Mbweni post second win

JKT Mbweni hit Zimamoto of Zanzibar 58-23 to win their second game in the on going Mainland Netball League in a match played at the TCC Chang`ombe in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Mbweni led 25-13 until the halftime with Nelly Anyingisye and Ester Fanuel emerging the top scorers for the winners when they registered 23 and 33 points, respectively.

Zimamoto scorers were Angelina Modest (8) and Asma Hamis (15).

The Dar es Salaam team was defeated by Zanzibar`s JKU 35-34 before hitting Polisi Dar es Salaam 47-35.

Mafunzo defeated Nyuki of Zanzibar 49-42 in another match played yesterday. Mafunzo were ahead 26-22 until the halftime.

The highest scorers for Mafunzo were Kazija Salum (25) and Mwajuma Mayunga (24). Nyuki goals were registered by Rose Kavinda (41) and Mwanaisha Rashid (1).

Mbweni is one of the teams which have so far performed well in the tournament which will end on Monday. Others which have performed well are defending champions Jeshi Stars and JKU.
