Juma Mwambusi has resigned from training Tanzania Prisons ahead of the Vodacom Premier League.

Mwambusi said yesterday that he had refused to renew the contract because the team had failed to implement his proposals.

``I cannot work with a team which does not want to listen to my proposals,`` he said.

Mwambusi helped Prisons finish second in the Premier League and made them qualify for next year’s Confederation Cup.

Prisons Chairman Salum Chambuso when conducted, confirmed the departure of the tactician.

He said the team`s assistant coach James Nestroy would train the team while they were still looking for a new coach.

The 12-team league will kick off tomorrow when Simba play newly promoted Villa Squad in the opening match at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Others are defending champions Yanga, Mtibwa Sugar, Kagera Sugar, Polisi Dodoma, Polisi Moro, Moro United, Prisons, JKT Ruvu and Azam FC.
