A robe committee that investigated the death of Tedi Abel Dimoso(32), a pregnant woman who died on June 1, this year at the Mwananyamala Municipal Hospital in Dar es Salaam, has reported that the woman did not die at the hospital`s reception.
Tedi was reported to have died at the hospital`s reception where she was taken for delivery because she did not have money to pay for the service.
Unveiling the report to the press yesterday, Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Abbas Kandoro said many reports on the incident were not correct, adding that most of them were incorrect, including circumstances of the death.
``She was taken to the hospital on May 30, this year, and she died on June1. That makes it obvious that she did not die at the hospital`s reception, as it was reported because its not possible that she had stayed at the reception for two days,`` said the RC.
He also said claims that the relatives of Tedi were offered gasoline by the director of the hospital to assist them in transferring the body to Morogoro as bribery, wasn`t true.
He noted that the hospital administration did so to show their sympathy and it was one way of saying sorry.
Kandoro also said that the report shows that Tedi died due to complications she faced during delivery and not due to lack of essential services from the hospital.
The probe committee, which the RC created, was made of Dr. Edwin Mung`ong`o, Prof. Siriel Massawe, Dr Judith Kahama, Englebert Nilongo and Prisca Kissila.
