Namfua now ready for athletics

Namfua Stadium of Singida which was being renovated for the national athletics championship has been completed.
Athletics Tanzania (AT) Secretary-General Suleiman Nyambui said yesterday that the renovation was over and what remained is the drawing of the lines in the pitch.
Nyambui said the date of the championship would remain unchanged and that AT was doing the final preparations. The event will be staged on July 11.
He said athletes who will compete on the championship would spend a day attending AIDS/HIV seminar organised by AT.
He said sports gear which were donated by Chinese firm, Li-Ning, would be given to regions which would come for the Singida meet.
Nyambui said Kigoma, Tabora and Ruvuma until yesterday were yet to confirm their participation.
