Dar set to start inter-cities preps

Dar es Salaam basketball teams will start training to prepare for the East and Central African Inter-cities Championship on Monday.
The championship is expected to take off from June 24-28 at Indoor Stadium and TCC Chang`ombe grounds in Dar es Salaam.
The team`s coach, Zabron Manase, said yesterday that the men`s team would train at Zanaki ground while women would train at UDP grounds.
``Currently I have 30 players in my team, 15 ladies and 15 males. The team will be later reduced to 24,` Manase said.
He said nine cities had so far confirmed to compete in the regional championship.
They are the host Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala, Addis Ababa and Kigali.
